Celebrate National Aboriginal Day with Four Day Event!
June 18-June 21, 2010
Oppenheimer Park 440 Powell Street
Monday June 21 marks National Aboriginal Day! A day when First Nations, Metis and Inuit people, and organizations are busy organizing cultural and community events to celebrate with community members. It was 1982, when the National Indian Brotherhood first suggested implementing a National Aboriginal Solidarity Day on June 21.
June 21 was chosen as a significant date in time our people traditionally celebrated their culture, tradition and way of life as well the changing of seasons.
This celebration aims, not only, to share with society, the beauty of Indigenous art, music, oral history and traditional games but to insure that the Indigenous voice is heard and not forgotten for each new generation.
