Position Description:
The Community Support and Research Unit is currently seeking a full time, contract Project Coordinator to work with one of its housing teams. Reporting to the CSRU Manager, the Project Coordinator will build capacity in best practice housing, bring about housing conversion and facilitate systems change. He/she will be responsible for all facets of the development of transformative housing opportunities which include acting on opportunities for new housing initiatives, negotiating with all parties involved, development of a memorandum of understanding, developing policies and procedures to support the new initiatives, providing leadership to ensure the project becomes operational, problem solving, development of a communication strategy, ongoing monitoring of the initiative, financial reporting, developing and supporting a steering committee for each , ensuring an evaluation component is carried out for each initiative, and ensuring the initiatives reach their goals and are carried out within the required timelines. Other responsibilities include leadership in supporting other provincial housing initiatives, developing guides for best practice housing, liaising with the MOHLTC, liaising with CAMH treatment teams, working with the housing teams of CSRU, taking part in CSRU wide initiatives and delivering presentations with regards to the initiatives and best practice housing. You will establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with colleagues both in CAMH and in the community as well, participate in advocacy and inclusion initiatives and have an understanding of research and program evaluation. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements. This position is located at 862 Richmond Street West, Toronto.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a Masters degree in the social/health sciences combined with a minimum of 3 years working experience and knowledge in project co-ordination related to housing, a solid knowledge of supported housing, best practice housing and the housing community in the GTA and surrounding area. Knowledge of housing issues facing people with mental health and/or addiction issues at the individual and system level is essential as is the ability to work in a culturally competent manner, and have an understanding and experience in systems change and advocacy. Knowledge and experience in applied research and evaluation is preferred. You will also possess strong interpersonal skills, be able to work independently, and within a team, have the ability to communicate effectively, have strong written and presentation skills and be able to meet project deadlines and have excellent computer skills. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment are also essential. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
Please Note: This full-time, 12-month contract position is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit. Salary Range: $28.94 - $39.05 per hour
