Northern Manitoba medevac plane out of service after people break in, do damage
OXFORD HOUSE, Man. - A medical evacuation plane is out of service in a remote northern Manitoba community after someone broke in the hangar and emptied a fire extinguisher in it.
Mounties in Oxford House First Nation say emergency bags were also stolen in the break-in Wednesday morning.
RCMP say the bags contained medications that if used incorrectly could result in a health emergency.
Mounties say the plane can't be flown until it can be cleaned and mechanically inspected and the medical bags replaced.
RCMP are asking anyone with information to contact them.
Oxford House is a fly-in community 950 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg. -CP-
